How many laser treatments will I need?
The number may vary based on your specific skin concerns and goals. In some cases, our clients are happy with the results they’ve gotten from “one and done”! However, for more problematic skin issues the results will take more time to achieve. During your initial free consultation, we will assess your unique skin profile and discuss a recommended treatment plan to help you reach your goals. For optimal laser results, treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart are typically recommended and we promise you will see steady skin gains!
Do laser skin treatment sessions hurt?
Most clients describe the sensation as mild, like a quick snap or sting on the skin. The lasers used at Sugar Savvy have a cooling-air system built right in, so we can help minimize any discomfort you may feel during the treatment. If you feel you could benefit from it, you can pre-apply a topical numbing cream at home about 20 minutes before coming in for your treatment session. But honestly, most of our clients don’t need it!
How long does it take to see results?
For our rosacea or spider vein clients, we have good news – we can zap the vascular area and results can be instantaneous!
For pigmentation and sun damage, you can expect to see those freckles darken and then fade to fresh pink skin over the course of about one next week.
With acne or wrinkle rejuvenation – these skin concerns didn’t happen overnight, and they likely won’t be fixed overnight either! While you may notice improvements after your first session, the full effects are visible over several weeks as collagen production increases and the skin continues to heal.
Is lasering rejuvenation safe for all skin types?
IPL is most effective on lighter skin tones with darker hair. While it can be used for skin rejuvenation, acne, pigmentation, and rosacea treatment on a variety of skin types, caution is needed for darker skin tones as there are greater risks for hyper or hypo pigmentation to occur. Our free initial consultation with our specialists will help determine if IPL laser is the right treatment for your specific skin type and concerns. For optimal results and safety, we tailor treatments based on individual skin needs.
Can I go back to work right after a treatment session?
Yes, most clients can resume their normal activities, including work, shortly after an IPL treatment. While some redness or mild swelling may occur (don’t schedule a photoshoot that week!) it typically subsides within a few hours, and there is little to no downtime. Just be sure to follow any aftercare instructions provided, such as avoiding sun exposure, to ensure the best results.
Can laser treatments be combined with other products / treatments?
Yes, you can continue other treatments – like Sugar Savvy’s renowned facials – as well as your usual topical products like retinols to enhance results, especially for acne or pigmentation concerns. In fact, using these treatments in tandem with laser can help you reach your skin goals faster. The one non-negotiable is to use your sunscreen to protect your skin investment and maintain your results!
